Workshop ReCoding: Speed of Sound
Feedback, Oscillation and Transformation: physical space and electronics for generative sonic feedback. The principles of feedback and oscillation play a big role in Edwin van der Heide’s spatial interactive installations. Do you want to learn how you can use these principles to create an engaging immersive experience?
During the workshop Recoding the Speed of Sound you get two days to play and experiment.
Under the guidance of Edwin van der Heide and CCU, you’ll work on creating a concept for a new installation.
About this workshop
This two-day workshop follows the method of ReCoding. ReCoding aims to inspire the new generation of makers with the work of the Dutch Pioneers of Media Art. The goal of the workshop is to deconstruct the artwork The Speed of Sound, surfacing the principles that ground Edwin van der Heide’s installation and take inspiration from it for the participant’s own new artworks. After developing these prototypes, a small group of participants is given the chance to further develop their project guided by Creative Coding Utrecht, leading up to the final presentation moment during Art Machines festival in December.
